TRUTH IS…..
it a game played by hundreds (if not thousands) of teens and young adults on Facebook. The whole premise is that when you see the “truth is…..” Status you click like and the person who posted it will finish the statement with something (usually good) about you!
A few years ago I had no idea what this game was. So scrolling through FB One evening I saw this status from one of my Youth group kids and I liked it!….BECAUSE I LIVE FOR TRUTH! What happened in return humbled me so much’. I was so grateful for her encouraging words….but in the same respect my niavity was erased!
So what does that have to do with this book. Well it was around the same time that I acquired a free copy of Hope fore the Weary Mom. It sat on my Kindle for months. Little did I know that this book was going to be used by God in a fantastic way. Fast forward to January of 2013. Brooke and Stacey started a book club going through Hope. It was a horrible time as I walked this Huge journey. Of realizing that our then 5 year old son was far more than “a little bit quirky”. I felt all alone as began to realize our path now merged with that of a child on the Autism Spectrum……but my voice wasn’t the only one telling me I was failing….it echoed from every nook and cranny of my world. I hid in my home, I feared going out in public with him. I was SPENT!
And along came these posts every week encouraging people to join in on the book club. I felt God tugging on my heart….I joined…late but I joined.
Those first few chapters flew by and soon I caught up.
As I read I decided to blog.

When I heard about the expanded version I chomped at the bit to dive in.
I met Brooke and Stacey At the Raising Generation Today Conference back in The Spring of 2014 and let me tell you, THEY ARE THE REAL DEAL! How the write is exactly who they are! That is sooooo important!
And as I read the new version this correlation of “Truth Is” is exactly what these chapters echo. I read the book with a different set of eyes. Because life is different now….the screaming, banging head, tossing over furniture has dulled to a distant memory, we deal with different issue (notice how I didn’t say easier). We have walked some dark paths…..also different but you know what…..the truth is…..truth is truth and it fits all of our circumstances!
So let’s Explore the concept….
Chapter 8-When Life Hurts too Much…….Truth is its OK to mourn……whether it’s the loss of a child or the loss of dreams once hoped for for a child….or the list goes on and on. Truth is God is with us, even when our faith seems so far from us and when God seems to be in another galaxy.
Chapter 2-When You’re Caught in What You’re Not…..Truth is you’ve got God given strengths and talents. Don’t focus on what you don’t have or not good at! Because you HAVE been blessed with all you’ve got.
Chapter 5- Redeeming Mommy Guilt…….Truth is EVERY MOMMY HAS GULIT ABOUT SOMETHING! Really! Truth is …you are not alone!
So here’s a fun challenge…Buy this book. Read the book. Then with a journal and pen play the Truth is Game. As you read write TRUTH IS…..
And write out the TRUTHS God teaches you! You will be Amazed!
