I take great pleasure in……,

Many things in life give me great joy! Like birds, singing, flowers blooming, rainbows stretching across the sky as I walk barefoot across newly rain soaked grass, my kids giggling, my husband kissing me on the cheek or forehead, or hearing coyotes howling in the distant farmers fields. And the list goes on and on! But there is something that seems to warm my heart more these days. That is watching my two youngest sleeping during nap time. They are so peaceful. Especially weasel. As we have watched him and learned more about his and his Aspergers. One thing we have noticed is that he feels pain in certain ways far greater than most people. And it seems as though every couple of weeks there is this battle his body goes through. At first thought my dear hubby and I said to each other that he just seems to be over reacting. We have tried calming techniques of breathing, counting and so on but to no avail!

There is nothing more frustrating than watching your child suffer through pain and not be able to help them. I have prayed long and hard about how to help him not get so stressed but God allowed me to witness something. I witnessed him sleeping. We’re talking sound asleep dead to the world type of sleep! And all of a sudden his little body tensed, he started to shake,, and he gave a little moan just as he did when he was awake. He wasn’t just psyching himself up over fear of this pain it was real. Oh my poor little guy!

And as I saw this I thanked God for showing me! Not just this but He reminded me just how important it is to be students of my children! They are all so different, all with their own difficulties and yet all of them so amazing! They might have similarities to my husband or I, but they most certainly see their world in Tornado, Ladybug, weasel, and Little Bean colored glasses! And if I take the time to look at the world they do, it’s a pretty amazing place! I am so glad I have them to show it to me!

Service Review: AnnieJane Phtography

Back in October or November (how awful i can’t remember) we had our good friend Annie from AnnieJane Photography yet again take our pictures! She does such a great job and this is our FOURTH SESSION with her!

Her first session was nearly 10 years ago when she was the photographer for our wedding! She did an amazing job then and in the three other times since! We were one of her first jobs, and her business has just flourished!

We have some amazing pictures of our wedding day and this is just a small sampling!

And then there was the photo shoot before little bean made his presence known.

As you can see she has a real eye for some amazing moments!

Then there the shoot from when little bean at about 6 months old

You can’t really tell but they had all just been in tears….Annie made them laugh and giggle!
And then there was this past fall…..

She is one of the few people who can get our son with Aspergers to look at her when she takes pictures! And she didn’t even know!

I highly recommend that if you live in the southern tier of NY, that you consider having Annie do whatever kind of photo shoot you need!

You can check out more of her galleries and her photo blog here!

Product Review: L’Oréal Paris Magic BB Cream

As a member of ShSpeaks I was asked to review the new L’Oréal Paris Magic BB Cream and I received a free complimentary tube! I was super excited to try this product after reading the description and have heard about other similar products.
But is it REALLY magic? Does it really make you skin healthier?

Well i will say this there aren’t any pictures and there won’t be either! For the most part the product is pretty cool and it is way more weightless than your average foundation. The color matching is pretty cool too! However for me personally after only a few minutes of applying this makeup my face was very oily in certain areas and within a few days i had breakouts. (Hence the no pictures). I felt like my face needed to be washed all over again even though it had been washed 10 minutes prior!

I know a lot of other reviewers thought it was amazing and i am one of the few that had issues with the product! So it did do most of what it said hust not the healthier skin part (which coincidentally was a a huge selling point) i give it a three stars out of five. Would it be worth the $10.99 for a one fl. oz certainly would but i have a breakout!

My suggestion is try it out for yourself!

Happy Homemaker Monday- February 25 2013

The Weather:::
Gloomy but no snow! Snow is still on the ground but temps are warmer!

Right now I am::
Watching two little boys sleep peacefully!

Thinking::
Wishing i could see the future but in reality glad that I can’t! Life is a struggle sometimes and even one day at a time seems overwhelming. And yet with each breath God reminds me He will never leave me or forsake me. And my husband is there to remind me that there is nothing that I can say or do to make him not love me!

On my reading pile:::
My bible
Hope for the weary mom
Just like Jesus
Prized

On my tv:::
Nothing

Favorite Blog post this week (mine or other):::

2 sets of curtains

Homemaking::
One of the biggest money savers, i used to do and am starting again is making my own mixes. With the option of Pinterest there is a whole new world at my fingertips and my two cook books based on making mixes!

Looking around the house:::
Kitchen is a disaster but that happens while I clean out cupboards!
Living room cloths to be sent to my sister in law in Florida
Newly shampooed carpets in most of the living room and playroom
Clothes to be folded and put away!

From the camera:::

On my prayer list:::

Bible verse, Devotional:::
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness will be added unto you!

Such a great reminder! Sometimes we have to let things go in order to be able to pursue God the way He wants us to! Whether it be relationships, things, fear, or our own wants and desires.

Hope for the Weary Mom-week 7

Hi all, i know this is a few days late but i wanted to touch on the questions at the end of Fridays post! This book club has been challenging. If refreshes me and yet challenges me in things I already knew and yet have slipped through my fingers asI have become a weary mom. I have come to realize that being a weary mom is the best place for me to be, because I keep my eyes on Jesus!

This weeks chapter was a great reminder of the power of music!
The song that ran through my head all week……grace, grace, God’s grace. Grace that is greater than all my sin. This song was comforting me in two ways. It reminded me that I’m not perfect and yet I’m covered. Grace takes care of my imperfection! Secondly it’s a great reminder that those who hurt me whether my kids, hubby, or others around me need grace. I need to extend the same grace to them as Christ did to me! Does that mean I am to be a doormat? Nope! Sometimes I need to take a stand and always God will fight for those who are upright. So my character needs to be blameless!

My steps to focus on Jesus, has been beefed up since starting this study! God totally lured my heart here. I played catch up and have been impacted immensely. So this book club has played a big part in that! Secondly MUSIC! And thirdly and definitely the biggest is God’s word. Sometimes it seems so textbook, but it never returns void! No matter how many times i’ve read certain book chapters or verses there is always something new for me to dwell on!

Praying on my knees is certainly a struggle both physically, and emotionally! First off I have been super hard my my knees but that has not stopped me. I don’t pray on my knees as often as I should BUT when I do, and I humble myself to kneel before my creator, my heart refreshes as I pour out my deepest concerns! I want to make this a more common practice but in the same respect I don’t want to become flippant either!
