Tackle it Tuesday #14

Well I haven’t posted for the last two weeks so I guess it’s about time huh. My goals of blogging every day last week was dome for the first day. It was a great week but it was also a tiring week. For those of you interested. Hubby got a A- on his orals and then he graduated on Friday with honors. He got Magna which he was not expecting! It truly was a great week! Well there it is. Tune in tomorrow for a very cute wordless Wednesday post!

Tackle it Tuesday #13

< Ok in one week this is how far i have gotten. Talk about frustrating and they said it was a two hour sewing project. It has taken that plus some to get the pattern pinned and cut out. I don’t even have all the pieces cut out. Mainly cuz i washed the interfacing material, like I have been taught to do. I then dried it . That was a HUGE HUGE HUGE mistake. Why you may ask? It was fusible interfacing and the who 3 or 4 yards are completely ruined. I guess that just made it even more obvious I’m nothing but a novice. OOOPS!

Tackle it # 12–that is for the next three weeks

Ok ladies here’s my tackle um for the next three weeks or so.. or should that be sew! That’s right a sewing tackle. I am a novice at sewing on all counts but I have a lot of it to do. In three weeks my husband is graduating with his M.Div. I was feeling really Really bummed about not having something nicer to wear. Well Yesterday I stumbled upon a great pattern someone just gave me and it says that it is supposed to take two hours but with two small kids and another on the way. It should take me about three weeks!
So here’s the picture and I will update periodically. As of right now the fabric is washed and hopefully I will get to cut out the pieces this afternoon!

So I am going to make the twp in the center basically because they do not have buttons. The long one will be in the floral print and hopefully the shorter one will be the gray material.. It is up in the air if there is enough! oh well time will tell I guess. Wish me luck! It really helps having a mother-in-law a mile away who is a home and consumer sciences teacher!

Tackle it Tuesday #11 – The Weekend

Never in all my life have I dreaded an Easter as this one. No because of the holiday itself but what it would hold for our family! Or mission was to retrieve this A 1985 Chevy Suburban from the beautifully warm State of Arizona. Of which we live no where close to! This is the means by which the fellas got to Arizona (the fellas being hubby and my brother-in-law) So they left Saturday morning via the above airplane and flew to NYC then from there to Phoenix Az. Then they took a two hour shuttle ride north to see the truck. They loved it. so thus that evening they started their long journey back across the U.S. From Arizona to New Mexico and from there to Texas and from there to Oklahoma and from there to Kansas And from there to Missouri (apparently to buy cattle) To understand that you can read my brother-in-law’s blog by clicking here and reading the comments. Then from Missouri to Illinois to Indiana to Ohio and finally to New York A total of 2,500 miles DRIVEN in a Day and a half! In the meantime I spent the entire time at my parents home in Pennsylvania until hubby came to pick me up last night. We left at 2 AM this morning so he could come back for work. What a weekend and I just wanted to thank two people. Thanks to HT and Sugar. Sugar for giving up her hubby for their first Easter together as a married couple and HT for making the long journey and keeping my hubby awake. Make it three and the Good Lord for keeping everything and everyone safe! As for the reason of doing all this! We bought a brand New car last August the week after Ladybug was born, however as we just realized the back seat will be quite cramped with three car seats. That’s right baby #3 is due two days after Thanksgiving!

And the finished product!

Buying in bulk is great it saves us a lot of money and time in shopping but i FIND IT DIFFICULT TO PUT SOME OF THOSE REALLY LARGE PACKAGES AWAY! But there, it’s all done and my counter is not piled high one again!
