A New Life

Today was a totally new experience for us. For two and a half years my husband has been the associate pastor of his dad’s church. For the last 2 months we have spent traveling the states east of the Mississippi trying canidating at churches. Last Sunday was a particularly add day as my husband was coming home from a dear friend’s funeral. We weren’t able to make it to the morning service so we tried for the evening service without realizing that the particular church we were trying to attend cancelled services for Father’s Day because no one attended (just evening) So today was the first Sunday was the first Sunday in a very long time that we were not a part of the service. Now some of you may sneer at that and say yes you were. And I agree with you. But there is an oh so special connection that a pastor has. One that I see in my husband, mt father-in-law. And quite a few other pastor’s who I have gotten the privledge to know! They just aren’t themselves when they are the “spectators” in a service. It’s not that they show boat or enjoy the attention. It is an ever intense connection with people. I have seen similar things in my own father growing up. My dad got very injured when I was a kid in his place of work. He was laid off and later fired. He went stir crazy. My husband is not that bad off but it is also deeper than that. I wish I could explain it oh so much more eloquently than I have but there is just a special connection between a pastor and his congregation. So what happens when a pastor doesn’t have a congregation. Well I can’t tell you exactly. It is a strange occurance. I will keep you posted (pun intended) As our family embarks on this journey! 🙂

All Jammed Up

Sticky faces and sticky hands is what i had to deal with as I retrieved Tornado and Lady Bug from under the kitchen table with their stash. yep you guessed a whole jar full of home made jam I had over looked from breakfast. What a sticky mess but Oh So cute! 🙂

Sickened!

Ok so this morning I posted about my kiddos being sick now I am sickened but not nearly the same way. I flipped on the TV this morning while the kids were having their breakfast and paused a moment to see what was on our 4 channels (yep we have no cable and no satellite and it’s better that way!) I like to watch the TODAY Show, I don’t always agree with everything that I see and hear on their program and I do not watch everyday either, but much to my dismay I turned it on today. They had Fergie on. I have never seen her before and I have never heard her sing before and let’s hope this is the last time as well! The woman was wearing what looked like plastic shrink wrapped pants. I must say that yes she may have a nice figure but NO ONE looks good like that! Not to mention she was shaking and wiggling all over the stage in not so provocative ways! And then there were the provocative movements she did for the camera and the end of the runway! She crawled around as though she had just been hit by a car. At this point I noticed that there were three young children right in front of her. two or maybe all three were girls I am not sure but still what were those parents thinking. my kids would have been ushered out of there so fast they would have wondered if there was a time warp happening. Then there are the teen girls who were screaming to the tops of their lungs. For a woman who was basically acting like a woman of ill repute. I couldn’t understand what she was singing about but by the actions I knew it wasn’t good! There was once a day where a woman of that sort would have been kicked to the curb and asked not to return. they call it women’s liberation but i can tell you there isn’t anything liberating about the actions that were displayed. Guys drool and salivate over such a woman as though they are hunks of meat to be chewed up and spit out! Women were created to be beautiful and to be taken care of and cherished. And to have a meaningful relationship with. Not a one night stand not a fling not a short stint but for a life time…”I want love and I am devastated when a relationship ends but I get bit by the bug again….” What kind of life is that? Not one that I would like to live. I want more for my daughter as well! There is more to this life that sex and relationships. If that’s all you can think about you are lacking in so many others areas! I could go on and on and on but enough is enough and I think I have it all out of my system!

Home for almost a whole week!

It’s so amazing that we will be home for almost a whole week! The downer is that all three kiddos are sick! Runny noses and coughs..The whole nine yards! I can’t figure out where they got it from…They haven’t been around anyone that is sick but then again we have been so many places with so many different climates its no wonder that they stayed healthy as long as they did. matter of fact they are still all asleep. I got hubby off to work and fed vug so now it’s time to climb back into bed and cuddle up to two very warm little bodies who both ended up in our bed last night in the sick states! We had a very nice weekend in the Albany area and in Long Island! They are only three hours apart! It made for easy traveling! But I have a ton of cleaning to do And straightening! And then our monster week starts on Saturday! Please pray for us!

Oh be careful little mouth what you say!

Yep as a mommy this is becoming more and more of a motto. Things that adults say..like don’t blow that off (speaking of a task or a responsibility) doesn’t sound so great coming from an almost three year old’s little mouth! It takes a whole lotta work to make sure what you are saying is appropriate for little ears, and we don’t even use “bad” words. The old saying “monkey see, monkey do” is a living testimony of our lives right now except for change the wording a bit and it would be…Monkey hear , monkey say!!!
