For the love of Coffee, Tea, Or anything with Caffine

I went to bed at 3 AM and got up at 7 AM . I have one toddler and a 5 1/2 month old. There is not a thing in the house with any significant amount of caffeine in it.*tears* *SNIFF SNIFF*

Now for the rest of the story.
Hubby had to go to night court almost three hours away for a traffic violation and the police officer made a mistake on the ticket. So my hubby had to leave me and the kids home while he went. I have a really hard time sleeping when hubby isn’t around so I worked on a new website til 1:15 AM and then I decided I would try my hardest to fall asleep to a movie. Didn’t happen. The temps dropped here into sub-zero temps(That’s WITHOUT the wind chill factor!)…for those of you who are unfamiliar with type of weather good for you. I would like to trade places with you this week!!!!!!! We turn our heat back at night so it was 65 degrees in here but I was still freezing. I managed to doze for a few minutes but I woke up again with my teeth chattering away and my feet being really cold. Hubby got home a short time later.. Praise the LORD!!!!!!!!

Binky Bothers

What a day. I have two very grumpy kids. Mostly it’s related to colds and a bug that is flying around (as in the stomach bug not a fly or some other creepy crawly creature).. Two days in a row. One only wonders what tomorrow will bring!

Well on to my story!
I was standing at the sink doing dishes and Tornado was playing with ladybug while she was in her walker. Her binky was attached to her outfit via a clip and Velcro. Tornado was playing with one of the toys on her walker that makes noise. I had just scolded him for being rough with her and turned back to my dishes after he had given her an apologetic hug. Not two minutes later I caught a glimpse out of the corner of my eye a pink thing dangling from his mouth. I did a double take and there he was with ladybug’s binky(Pacifier) in his mouth. Now as cute as this was. I am a firm believer in taking away a child’s bink before he/she turns a year old and Tornado had not had a bink in over a year. I took the bink from him scolded while I rinsed it off and attached it back to her outfit. By this point Tornado was very crabby and was in dire need of a nap. I took him upstairs and changed his diaper and proceed to make the trek back down the stairs to get lady bug and do the same with her. I get half way down the stairs and hear a strange noise coming from the kitchen just in front of ladybug. Tornado was in his room wailing for me to come and rescue him because he knew the outcome of events. I moved quicker as I rounded the kitchen table and realized the dog was hiding but what was he chewing on….you guessed it the infamous binky. I am not joking nor exaggerating. He literally removed the whole clip from her outfit and was quite pleased with himself. All of this took place within twenty minutes. Talk about being kept on your toes!!!

Hello Winter

Some (including my husband) would say it’s about time!! Since my January 13th post it has snowed everyday since or so it seems. It is beautiful. It’s still not as cold as it normally is but cold enough to snow.
Either it was January 13th or 14th but our new puppy decided he needed to go out. He was giving all sorts of signals but in the rejoicing of hubby getting home from work we missed them. Needless to say he went on the floor. In the process he managed to douse our door mat, so I told my husband to throw it onto the back porch and that I would wash it with the other carpets on Tuesday. Bad idea as we all know the whole east coast was hit my that wonderful ice storm. Now I hadn’t realized it was sleeting like crazy so I got up took the dog out and noticed the 1/2 to 3/4 in. sheet of ice that cover everything, including the beautiful floor mat glazed to the back porch. Needless to say the ice was “supposed to melt that Thursday-didn’t happen and now it is not only covered with very thick ice but also with about 7 or 8 inches of snow. Go figure!! Live and learn next time I’ll throw it on the front porch which is covered!!

Shrub Popsicle

What a very interesting day!! If you look closely at this you will notice that each individual needle is coated with ice. One would think that the ice would just form one huge glob eventually but it didn’t. There is approximately 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of ice on the needles. Isn’t God fantastic. Ironically, the ice storm hit shortly after my last post. WELCOME TO WINTER!!!

On a warmer note. I got my first comment to my blog and to my delight I didn’t know her. Sorry small things always seem to delight the simple minded I guess!!! I was hoping all of this wouldn’t be futile and I really hope for some great discussions in the future Have a great day!!

Snow Snow Snow

I moved to a different state last year.. For my whole life I have lived in a warmer state, not much warmer but enough that a lot of people felt the need to give warning. Not only did they warn about the cold but they also warned about all the Snow. The part of the state I live in is known for a good amount of snow. At this point in the year the thought running through my mind is “Does it really exist” Now I know that we still have the potential of being hammered with huge snow storms but I chuckle when the last two winters have been two of the warmest on record. It definitely has been a nice way to transition to a colder climate.

The above pic shows the amount we have actually gotten this year.
