Yes it is another week but to be exact it’s Hubby’s last week at his secular Job…then it’s two weeks of non-stop packing and prepping and it’s on to a life we are so excited to start…what a joy to actually have the chance to do what God has called BOTH of us to do!!!!! It’s so funny but most people don’t realize the wife needs to be called as well. She’s not just along for the ride. She is an active Part of her husband’s ministry!!! One of the biggest things I learned while Hubby was at seminary was that too many times pastors wives have the his job my job mentality…..there is one job and that is what God has called you both to do! Knowing what I know now I still wouldn’t trade my Bible college degree for ANYTHING in the world!….except for maybe my husband and kids! It was the most realistic view of ministry….not all roses but not all thorns either…There are no rose colored glasses here….I have served in enough other ministries to realize that WE are ALL sinners..Pastors and their wives included…..I am also wise enough to realize that eve the most seasoned pastors don’t have it all figured out and that my husband and I don’t either..nor will we ever! In all that is about to change my biggest goal is this..TO HAVE A LEARNING ATTITUDE! In every way I need to be will to grow and learn…..if I don’t I become useless to God. I also can learn lots of things but if I am not willing to apply what I have learned then I also am useless to God. A lot of people tend to put a lot of pressure on pastor’s wives telling them they have to carry the brunt of a lot of things especially with the kids but my husband has a unique take on this..He believes that if he doesn’t actively participate in the taking control of our children he does not have his home under control and therefore is disqualified from being a pastor….We are a team….we do everything together and That IS the way God intended it for both pastor’s families and non-pastor’s families alike! w2ell I never intended to take so long but I guess I need to get my thoughts out….Working through the process can be overwhelming..Well i guess I shall see you all sometime tomorrow!

Vacation installment #5 and 6–Are you Ready to be transported through Time
THE CREATION MUSEUM IN PETERSBURG KENTUCKY This is not two different days but we had to go back to the hotel in order for the kids to get a nap!…This doesn’t even begin to show the extent of the museum. Just a quick note though. The museum has info overload, so if you are planning a visit they will let you leave and come back….It is the neatest place and we enjoyed it. It is amazing and is so real life it can be scary at times! #5–AM Visit
#6–PM visit
Now I will say this.. some of those pictures you cannot tell but the are actually quite small Dioramas that look so incredibly life like..and life sized As for the tree if you look closely you can see the face of Christ and his body as it was hanging on the Cross…Powerful absolutely powerful! We loved it and as I said before there was just sooooo much to look at and take in and somethings pictures just wouldn’t do justice to! You have to experience it. All of the people were wax pigures but they looked so real it was scary!…Our kids came home with a new fascination too…DINOSAURS! And this concludes our vacation overview..I hope you enjoyed seeing the pictures we had a chance to experience!
The question at Hand
So here’s the deal Nashville is known as one of the places you are most likely to meet someone famous. I have been asked already if I have …My response NO….But here is the main reason why…They are all Chickens…LOL!!! On Wednesday Nashville was “supposed” to get nasty weather…..ice and snow….and so being the brave New Yorkers that we are we still ventured out. HMMM They got flurries….YES FLURRIES..and the city COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN!!! I have always heard about this happening…but really? Okay so my family literally had the city to our selves. It wasn’t even cold to our standards. You know above freezing….. So my conclusions Kids if you want some great days off of school convince your parents to move to Nashville!!!! You definitely will get the snow days if there’s even a threat of snow! And me I think it’s a riot!
Pictures on their way
Have no fear there are more pictures to come but after some technical difficulties in one of our hotel rooms I was not able to post pictures so Check back at the beginning of the week for some more pictures from the vacation…AND SOME HUGE TACKLES!
Vacation installment #3
A full sized replica of the Parthenon was erected for the world’s fair…I just remember which one
But it has been standing there in the middle of Nashville for more than a hundred years
This is a statue of John Ryman which stands outside the entrance of the Ryman Audotorium in Down toen Nasville the last of five homes of the Grand Ole Opry. John Ryman owned 5 river boats which were known for drinking and gambling and was very mad when a preacher came through town to do some revival meeting…He (the preacher) insisted that they close down all bars and gambling locations. To this John ryman was irrate and went to cause trouble with the preacher. John ryman left that meeting with the preacher with a lot more than he bargained for…he got saved!!! He donated the money to build that preacher a church..Known today as the Ryman Audotorium!
A note from Hee Haw…Grandpa Jones was twenty seven when he started playing grandpa Jones.. Minnie Pearl also confessed and lived he Life as a Christian
From the balcony at the Ryman
Note the church pews…they are originals..They cleaned them up a few years back and the scraped of the gum but they left the dings and scrathes
The most famous of which is a huge three demensional carving of the Last supper and a stained glass window that is 20 feet tall and 8 feet wide. Both of which is so amazingly beautiful
Well tomorrow is a new day and we will be visiting the Country Music Hall of fame!
Have a great day and many blessings to you!!
