A couple of my friends…Diana and Ruth have participated in a fun little activity where you go to your picture files and post your 6th picture from your 6th file…So now it’s my turn and here it is:
It’s a picture of our camp site this past summer. We have grown to love camping at this campsite at a near by Bible conference. We love it and so do our kids!!!
The thing is that I really haven’t had anything Blog worthy this past week!
Today is such a beautiful fall day here I thought that I would just sit down and say HI
So “HI”
I will say that I did find our camera last night so pictures will show up sometime this week of all our work and progress that has been happening!
It’s hard when you go through just a dramatic transformation that you loose things for a while…sometimes that may be keys, your camera, a wallet or maybe even your mind! But be assured all has been found and life is FINALLY getting back to NORMAL!
Normal for at least our family so stay tuned. the next few weeks will be crazy ones as our lives again will be in the spotlight of another church. We will be considering them as they will be considering us for their next pastor! This one is a bit outside of our comfort zone and a bit overwhelming to think about but we are open to whatever God has in store for our family!
PLEASE PLEASE PRAY FOR US AS WE CONSIDER GOD’S WILL IN OUR LIVES!
I found my keys …right where I left them after Lady Bug brought them to me last week! I found them Sunday right after i posted about still not having them!
We did not have a car crash we were EXTREMELY close to having one but were not in it! For those of you who read my day book yesterday and thought We were put into that situation we were not.. We escaped by God’s grace..Our “New” truck would have been totaled. there would not have been anyway around that considering the speed of the other driver and the angle at which everything would have happened! However thankyou for your prayers anyway!
This past week I hit my 2ooth post….and I missed it just like I missed the 100th post. I have been doing this for almost 2 years. This coming January will mark that anniversary!
It has been a great two years and a great 200 posts…
I have made some great friends and rekindled some old friendships!
So stick around and we’ll see what happens in the next 200 posts!
A few years ago i was reading some “tips” on how to be a great blogger! In those tips it said that : A. Keep you blog posts short B. Don’t try to be a WRITER C. Stick to daily life snippets..don’t go into politics, ethics, hot topics, pet peeves and so much more Well as i am fast approaching my two year blogging anniversary and my 200th post on this blog I have been thinking a lot about this lately. These guidelines were specifically laid out for “mom” bloggers. That’s when I started contemplating what exactly a mom blogger is ….I think it’s great to blog about your kids…I do some of that but I am a concerned parent. I love the Lord with all of my heart and I try with all of my heart to honor Him with all that I do…So here’s my problem with the title “Mom Blogger” and the afore mentioned guidelines. Politics, ethics and hot topics all affect my kids. they affect me as a parent. they affect my home life and everything that encompasses who I am. They affect my religion (notice i didn’t say faith). They affect my rights as both a human being and a parent. So many times people really want to hide behind their title as mom or parent and say I have to focus on my kids and don’t give a hoot about what is going on in the world around me. Perhaps this is why I like Focus on the Family so much. Dr. Dobson brings to light the things that our government tends to slip through under the table with out the rest of this world knowing! It is our right and responsibility to stand up for the decisions our government makes…If we don’t like it we need to exercise our freedom of speech..if we don’t it shows we don’t care..and that our freedom of speech means nothing to us. Perhaps maybe I have a little more understanding of this than some because I have had my freedom of speech taken away. I forfeited it when I chose to step on communist soil when I was 19. You don’t feel immediate oppression it’s when you start learning all the do’s and don’ts that it really hits you about what you have and just how blessed you are. Your rights as an American DO NOT follow you around the world! Can yo imagine being told that you can’t teach your kids until they are twelve about God…That means no church of any kind: or how about being told that you can only have one child….try picking which of your children you’d rather have, it’s just plain difficult; or better yet not being able to talk about God at all in any public place…that means no praying before meals. I am not by any means a conspiracy theorist or a pessimist but the reality is if we don’t stand up for ourselves we will not have the freedoms we now enjoy and very much take for granted. Just curious but when was the last time you called your state rep of congressman to let them know you did not approve of something being done by our government. I guess it has always been my motto that if I’m not willing to do something about it then I don’t have the right to complain about it. All of this being said, yes I am a mom and yes sometimes I blog about being a mom. But that is not how I define myself. That is not all of who I am. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, pastor’s wife (when we eventually have a church again). I am a church member I am a voter a teacher, a Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. I am a scrap-booker, an artist and a writer. I am a dreamer, a nature lover. I am a camper, movie goer, book reader. I am a citizen born and raised in the U.S.A. I am all of those things so I most certainly can’t and won’t limit myself to just one of those things. I love to do this (bog that is)! All of these things are why I blog!
